Vocal Company
The Application Portal is now open for the 2025 Season
The Vocal Company or VC is a 24 member ensemble typically made up of undergraduate and graduate performance majors, although majoring in performance is not a prerequisite. All principal roles will be cast before the season begins.
VC members receive vocal and dance training as part of the weekly rehearsal process. The schedule is both demanding and highly rewarding. While one show is being performed in the evening, the following week's show is being rehearsed during the day. Rehearsal begins at 9:30 a.m. with a break for lunch at 12:00 and continues from 1:30 until 5:00 with a performance in the evening. There are six performances of each show, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. matinee performances on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a Sitzprobe on Saturday afternoon, a technical rehearsal on Sunday evening, and a dress rehearsal on Monday evening.
In addition to the regular season of nine shows, CLOC proudly participates in events that elevate our local community of Falmouth, MA. Examples of such events include a Juneteenth Celebrataion, an Independence Day Concert, a performance at the local Arts Alive Festival, as well as volunteer-based opportunities.
All Company members are assigned chores that help keep the campus and theatre running.
Company members are responsible for their own transportation to and from Falmouth, MA. The company will provide transportation from the Falmouth or Bourne Bus Station to our West Falmouth Campus.
Members of the Vocal Company must arrive on campus by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 and depart by noon on Sunday August 17.
The entire company is required to participate in a final strike on the evening of Saturday August 16th 2025.
Exceptions to these dates will be considered for students who must leave early to attend school.
The Vocal Company receives room and board (summer camp style) as well as a $550 stipend for the summer. Opportunities for additional need-based assistance exist and will be addressed during the acceptance process. If you would like to learn more about these opportunities, please contact us.

Audition Requirements: Please submit a single link to a self tape (between 4 and 6 minutes long) including:
- Short contemporary monologue, please no Shakespeare or classics in translation.
- One Operetta/OperaAria in English. Please no foreign languages (translations are acceptable).
- One Musical Theatre up-tempo and one Musical Theatre ballad in contrasting styles.
Tips:
- Bear in mind that requiring three songs encourages you to demonstrate stylistic differences between and within the genres. (Choosing “Sorry Her Lot” from H.M.S. Pinafore and “The Beauty Is” from The Light in the Piazza does not allow you the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to work in all styles present in a typical season)
- Cuts are welcome and encouraged.
- Be sure you are in a well-lit space, film in landscape and try to have at least 3/4 of your body in the shot.
- Combine all material into one video with a list of time markers for each selection. Your video should not be longer than 6 minutes.
- For guidance, here is an EXAMPLE AUDITION VIDEO
