Music Staff
The Application Portal is now OPEN for the 2025 Season
The three Associate Conductors serve as Chorus Masters and Lead Coaches. Depending on ability and experience, each Associate Conductor will conduct three matinees, and organize, rehearse, and accompany for one Second Stage event. Associate Conductors will also serve as pit keyboard players when called for.
Successful candidates are generally graduate students or older undergraduates with a solid background in vocal coaching and conducting, and must be excellent pianists. Applicants should be able to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
The schedule is both demanding and highly rewarding. While one show is being performed in the evening, the following week's show is being rehearsed during the day. Rehearsal begins at 9:30 a.m. with a break for lunch at 12:00 and continues from 1:30 until 5:00 with a performance in the evening. There are six performances of each show, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. matinee performances on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a Sitzprobe on Saturday afternoon, a technical rehearsal on Sunday evening, and a dress rehearsal on Monday evening. An associate conductor is assigned to every rehearsal, with time during performances for preparation and practice.
In addition to the regular season of nine shows, CLOC proudly participates in events that elevate our local community of Falmouth, MA. Examples of such events include a Juneteenth Celebration, an Independence Day Concert, a performance at the local Arts Alive Festival, as well as volunteer-based opportunities. The Music Staff will have the opportunity to lead these events.
All Company members are assigned chores that help keep the campus and theatre running.
Company members are responsible for their own transportation to and from Falmouth, MA. The company will provide transportation from the Falmouth or Bourne Bus Station to our West Falmouth Campus.
Music staff members must arrive on campus by 5:00 p.m. on Monday June 2nd and depart by noon on Sunday August 17th.
The entire company is required to participate in the final strike on the evening of Saturday August 16th.
