Vocal Company Biographies
Grace Alai: Grace is a classically-trained mezzo-soprano from New Jersey studying at Carnegie Mellon University. She began her musical career as a multi-instrumentalist and found her love for singing through theatre. Grace is passionate about new music and underrepresented composers. Off stage, she loves to write and record original music. She is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and an advocate for mental health awareness.
Samantha Altman: Samantha is thrilled to be joining CLOC for their 2022 season! Sam is a recent graduate from the BFA Musical Theatre Program at Manhattanville College. Recently, Sam has been seen in, Brigadoon (Fiona) & See Rock City (Dodi) and at CLOC (2021) The Wizard Of Oz (Dorothy),Very Good Eddie (Elsie Darling), Little Women (Beth), The Pirates of Penzance (Kate) and, The Pajama Game (Gladys).
Orlando Montalvo Avalo: Orlando finished his first year at Louisiana State University in the Masters in Vocal Performance Program. Recently, he was seen at the College Light Opera Company performing the roles of Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, Alexis in The Sorcerer, and other varying roles. Mr. Montalvo is a Miranda Family Fellow - a distinct award from Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Miranda family awarded in 2018.
Carlyn Barenholtz: Carlyn is back for her third season at CLOC. You may remember her as Mad Margaret, Washington Irving, Georgiana, Babe, Jo, or Jill. She graduated Summa cum laude from Boston Conservatory with a BFA in Musical Theater with emphases in Dramaturgy & Playwriting and Devised Theater. There is nowhere else she would rather be culminating her college career than in her happy place with all of you :)
Bella Bosco: Bella Bosco (she/her) is a rising senior Musical Theatre major at Western Connecticut State University from Delaware, Ohio. Upcoming credits include Bat Boy (Meredith Parker). Previous credits include Melancholy Play (Tilly), Sweeney Todd (Beggar Woman), Shrek (Fiona), and Hand to God (Margery u/s, performed). She was the featured soloist with the Central Ohio Symphony at the 2021 4th of July Celebration and 2019 Christmas concert.
Kylee Brown: Kylee Brown is thrilled to join the CLOC Vocal Company for the first time! Kylee is a rising Senior at Texas Christian University pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre. Hailing from New Hampshire, Kylee has performed across the seacoast in productions for Seacoast Repertory Theatre, Threshold Stage Company, Ogunquit Playhouse, and more. Romans 8:38-39.
Sabrina Brush: Sabrina Brush is a recent graduate from Oklahoma City University where she studied both Opera and Musical Theatre. You may have seen her last year as Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, The Witch in The Wizard of Oz, Madame Matroppo in Very Good Eddie, and other fun old ladies. She is beyond excited to be back at the cape for another summer of great theatre!
Erin Burtchaell: Erin originally from Ocean Township, NJ, is thrilled to be returning this summer as part of the Vocal Company! Previous CLOC credits: Little Women (Marmee), The Danger Year (Zoe), and The Pajama Game (Mabel/Steam Heat). She recently choreographed Legally Blonde at Manhattanville College. Erin graduated from Manhattanville College with her BFA in Musical Theatre in May 2021.
Kevin Dyson: Kevin is a recent graduate from Manhattanville College with degrees in Musical Theatre and Technical Theatre. At Manhattanville College he starred in The Drowsy Chaperone (Aldolpho) and Company! (Harry). He is beyond excited for his time at College Light Opera Company!
Jason Edelstein: Jason, from Paramus, New Jersey, is a recent graduate from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with a BM in Vocal Performance. IU Opera and Ballet Theater credits: The Magic Flute (Monostatos), Ensemble: H.M.S. Pinafore, Falstaff, La Boheme, The Barber of Seville, La Traviata, Le Nozze di Figaro. Musical Theater credits: The Light in the Piazza (Signor Naccarelli), and How to Succeed in Business WRT (Finch).
Antonio Esposito: Antonio (baritenor) is a second-year master’s student studying under Matthew Chellis at the University of Colorado Boulder. He has performed in Opera Orlando’s 2020-2021 season, including Die Fledermaus and Carmen, as well as Javert in Les Miserables this past summer. Mr. Esposito most recently performed as the Man with a Shoe Sample Kit in CU Boulder’s most recent production of Postcard from Morocco.
Gordon Evans: Gordon is a recent graduate from Manhattanville College, where he majored in Musical Theatre and Communications. His most recent credits include Charlie Dalrymple in Brigadoon and Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde, both at Manhattanville College. He is very excited and grateful to be performing with The College Light Opera company this season.
Adam Forward: Adam Forward is a Junior BFA Acting major at Syracuse University from Calgary, Canada. SU mainstage credits include As You Like It, Sender, and Next to Normal. Other credits include Crossing Swords, Spring Awakening, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Outsiders, West Side Story, Grease, Rent, Seussical the Musical, and A Christmas Carol. Caprie Gordon: Caprie lives in Oklahoma City, attending the ACM@UCO for songwriting and music production. But theater still has her heart! Credits: Charlaine (Ain’t Misbehavin) Princess Barbara (The Apple Tree) Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) and Winnifred (Once Upon a Mattress). This is Caprie’s first summer with CLOC!
Annie Heartney: Annie Heartney (she/her) is ecstatic to make CLOC debut! A crossover artist originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Annie is a recent graduate of ASU, receiving her B.M. in music theater performance. Favorite credits include The Last Five Years (Cathy Hiatt), Lizzie (Bridget Sullivan), and Spring Awakening (Anna).
Kaitlyn Jackson: Kaitlyn (she/her) is an avid singer, actor, dancer, and choreographer, and is a graduate of Ithaca College's BFA Acting program. Past credits include Woman 2 ("Songs for a New World"/IC), Kate Murphy ("Titanic: The Musical"/IC), and Apprentice with the Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company. Kaitlyn has two albums of original music and was featured on Season 13 of American Idol.
Christy Jean: Christy is 20 years old Haitian- American who was raised in Long Island. She is a rising Junior at Manhattanville College who is studying musical theatre and recently did productions of Legally Blonde and Brigadoon there. Her notable roles will be Zangara in Assassins and Sylvia in All Shook Up. Christy is very excited to be a part of this wonderful season alongside so much talent.
Sam Joseph: Sam is an incoming senior at NYU Steinhardt studying Vocal Performance in Musical Theatre! NYU credits include Songs for a New World (Man 2), Orpheus in the Underworld (Mercury), In Pieces (Charlie), Applause (Featured Dancer), Wonderland, Orfeo ed Euridice. He recently received 1st place awards at NATS in the Musical Theatre and Classical categories.
Teddy Ladley: Teddy is thrilled to return to CLOC for his second season! He graduated Summa Cum Laude, Music Theatre Performance from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University, and sang the National Anthem and Alma Mater at Graduation. Álvaro Medina: Álvaro is a student/actor from Puerto Rico who is now based in New York. Currently, he's a rising senior pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. He was recently seen in Manhattanville College's productions of Brigadoon (Tommy), Legally Blonde (Callahan), and See Rock City and Other Destinations (Grampy u/s). Esto es para mami.
Will Paddock: This is Will’s third season with CLOC. Will was with the Vocal Company in 2019 and in the virtual company in 2020. Previously, Will has performed as the Major General in The Pirates of Penzance, in a world premiere opera, Mayo, and in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.
Alex Poletti: Alex Poletti is thrilled to be back at CLOC for a second season! Alex is currently pursuing his BFA at the Boston Conservatory. Previous credits include the Sergeant of Police in “Pirates of Penzance,” Sam in “Trouble in Tahiti,” and Sir Marmaduke in “The Sorcerer” at the Highfield Theater last season and the dual roles of Dr. Pangloss and Voltaire in “Candide” at the Boston Conservatory.
Julia Ragusa: Julia Ragusa is a soprano, actor, voice teacher, and dancer with her Bachelor of Arts in Music and Theatre from Gordon College, with additional Musical Theatre studies at Fordham University. Leading Roles: Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Henrietta Leavitt in Silent Sky, The Baker in Witch Cakes.
Brandon Roth: Brandon Roth is a young artist best known for his work in musical theatre and straight plays. He finished his Bachelor of music in voice performance in 2021 and received an emerging talent award from the prestigious Lotte Lenya Competition. His notable roles include Robert in company, Pozzo in Waiting for Godot and the Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance.
