Robert A. Haslun, Producer and General Manager
founded the College Light Opera Company in 1969. He had previously spent five years at Highfield Theatre as a performer and then General Manager for the Oberlin College Gilbert and Sullivan Players, the previous occupants of the theatre. He is a graduate of Northfield Mount Hermon School and Oberlin College. Bob completed 35 years of service at Oberlin as an academic administrator in 2007, 28 of which he served as Secretary of the Corporation and of the Board of Trustees. This is Bobs 48th season of summer stock at Highfield Theatre.
Ursula R. Haslun, Producer and Business Manager
has spent summers at Highfield Theatre since 1966. She began as an usher and then a Box Office Treasurer for the Oberlin troupe. In 1969, as a sophomore in high school, she joined CLOC during its first season continuing her Oberlin role as a Box Office Treasurer. She became business manager in 1973 and Producer in 1981. Ursula, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, graduated from Oberlin College in 1975. She then spent 31 years there as Manager of Concert Production in the Conservatory of Music. She produced over 400 concerts and recitals each year, retiring with Bob in 2007. She and Bob met at Highfield and were married in Falmouth in 1975.
Elizabeth Durst, Assistant Business Manager, is returning for a third season with CLOC following two summers in the costume shop. She graduated last May from Boston University, lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has worked as a stage manager, educator, director, and theatre adminstrator. In the fall she will be returning to California to join the staff of Dragon Productions.
Audrey Saccone, Publicity Director, is a rising senior at the Crane School of Music studying Music Business and Musical Studies: Theory/History. She is active with Crane Opera Ensemble as Production Manager and is President of her Alpha Psi Omega cast. This is her second season with CLOC following a wonderful season in the box office.
Joe Van Ullen, Box Office Treasurer, will be a Senior at the Crane School of Music in the fall, where he is pursuing a double major in Clarinet Performance and Music Business. This is his first summer with the College Light Opera Company.
Meg Watson, Box Office Treasurer, is here at CLOC for her first season, but is a seasoned veteran on both sides of the curtain. Favorite roles include Olive Ostrovsky (The 25th Annual...Spelling Bee), Thea (Hedda Gabler) and Kathy (The Last Five Years). Meg is planning an internship this fall to begin her career in the industry.
Ryan Bates, Technical Director, is a graduate of Middlebury College, where he studied scenic design and architecture. Past scenic designs include Eurydice, Jekyll, Metamorphoses, and Burn This, which was awarded 1st Place in the KCACTF Region I Set Design category. He is thrilled to be returning to CLOC for a second season.
Kake Boucher, Costume Designer shows 1-6, is at CLOC for her fourth year, in her second season as Costume Designer. Her favorite works from the past include My Fair Lady, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, and Guys and Dolls.
Allie Connell, Stage Manager, is a rising junior at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the theater department where she is focusing on stage management. She stage managed the CLOC 2010 season and is glad to be back for another year with the CLOC company.
John Delfino, Lighting Designer, is ecstatic to be spending his first summer at CLOC. He studies Theatre, English, and Computer Science at Boston College. Recent Lighting Design credits include: Boston College: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (LD), The Pillowman (LD), Speak Truth to Power (LD). SpeakEasy Stage Company: The Drowsy Chaperone (ALD).
Jenna Glendye, Costume Designer shows 7-9, is a recent graduate of Skidmore College where she designed costumes for Romeo & Juliet and Death of a Salesman. In the fall, she will work for a costume shop in Yonkers, NY as well as return to Skidmore as a guest artist to design Pilgrims of the Night. This is Jenna's third summer with CLOC.
