Staff Biographies
Robert A. Haslun, Producer and General Manager, founded the College Light Opera Company in 1969. He had previously spent five years at Highfield Theatre as a performer and then General Manager for the Oberlin College Gilbert and Sullivan Players, the previous occupants of the theatre. He is a graduate of Northfield Mount Hermon School and Oberlin College. Bob completed 35 years of service at Oberlin as an academic administrator in 2007, 28 of which he served as Secretary of the Corporation and of the board of trustees. This is Bobs 47th season of summer stock at Highfield Theatre.Ursula R. Haslun, Producer and Business Manager, has spent summers at Highfield Theatre since 1966. She began as an usher and then a Box Office Treasurer for the Oberlin troupe. In 1969, as a sophomore in high school, she joined CLOC during its first season continuing her Oberlin role as a Box Office Treasurer. She became business manager in 1973 and Producer in 1981. Ursula, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, graduated from Oberlin in 1975. She then spent 31 years there as Manager of Concert Production in the Conservatory of Music. She produced over 400 concerts and recitals each year, retiring with Bob in 2007. She and Bob met at Highfield and were married in Falmouth in 1975.Jamie Lynn White, Publicity Director, is a rising senior at Northwestern University in Chicago, where she studies theatre and business. At Northwestern, she has worked as a director, designer, and producer most notably, she produced Jason Robert Brown's Parade for the 2010 Dolphin Show, which is the nation's largest student-produced musical. She works at The House Theatre of Chicago as a marketing and development associate. Heather McMunigal, Assistant Business Manager, is here on the Cape in her third summer as Assistant Business Manager. She graduated from Penn State this past May with a degree in music and focus in arts administration, and plans to find a career with a theater or performing arts center and to continue singing. Vincent Covatto, Box Office Treasurer, returns for his second year with CLOC. Vincent is entering his final year of studies at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, studying voice. He plans to use his degrees in music education and music business in a career in educational outreach.Audrey Saccone, Box Office Treasurer will be entering her junior year at the Crane School of Music, studying voice, music business, and music theory/history. She has worked with Crane Opera Ensemble as assistant stage manager, assistant director, and production manager for 2 years, and this is her first year with CLOC. She is from Albany, NY.Marie Blackburn, Chef de Cuisine. Add one part passion, an ounce of drama, and a dash of love, and the results are always good. Marie Younger Blackburn considers this recipe for another successful year at CLOC. This is her third season as Chef. Marie is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University School of Culinary Arts. Marie is a wife, and proud mother of three sons: Ralph, 29, a food and beverage manager with the Marriott Corporation and co-owner (with his wife Amy) of Simply Black & White Catering; Dane, 19, a graduate of Falmouth High; and Chase, 6, a student at North Falmouth Elementary School. Marie has been cooking for almost 20 years. She has traveled to Spain, Italy, and Banbason cooking for Mass Maritime Academy. She has cooked for various institutions such as YMCA camp Lyndon, Burgess & Haywood, and several nursing homes here on Cape Cod. Marie was culinary coordinator at Fairwinds Clubhouse in Falmouth and editor of a local cookbook. Her interests include ministry, personal shopping, reading, and exercise. She is also a sought after inspirational speaker and poet, having completed one book "Early When I Rise." Jared Sposato, Director of Plant and Property for the West Falmouth Campus, is excited to spend his fourth summer as work director for CLOC. With a degree in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma, and with a journeyman electrical license, Jared is currently pursuing a Masters of Religion. Kake Boucher, Costume Designer, is a recent graduate of Boston University, with a BFA in costume production. For the past two seasons she has enjoyed draping costumes for CLOC productions such as The Gondoliers, The Yeomen of the Guard, A Little Night Music, and Me and My Girl.Tim Boucher, Set Designer/Technical Director/Lighting Designer, is returning for his third season at CLOC. He works in Baltimore as a stage manager, carpenter, and technician at Everyman Theatre and Centerstage. Tim is also a writer and historian studying cross-cultural theatrical and performance traditions.Jonathan Edward Brennand, Associate Conductor, a native of Middlesex, England, returns to CLOC for his fifth season. He is a graduate student at University of MassachusettsAmherst studying orchestral conducting with Brazilian conductor Lanfranco Marcelletti. Jonathan studied in Austria in 2009 and completed an apprenticeship under the tutelage of Heinz Ferlesch, conductor of Wiener Singakademie. Jonathan is currently editing a new edition of Victor Herbert's one act Metropolitan Opera, Madeleine, due to be published in 2011. Adrianna Stoiber, Associate Conductor, is returning to CLOC as an associate conductor after two seasons as a piano accompanist in 2007 and 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and currently works as a pianist and coach in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.Heidi Kloes, Choreographer, a native of Nederland, Texas, is thrilled to be back for her second year at CLOC. In 2009, she graduated from Texas Tech University with degrees in music and communication studies. She loves performing on stage in musicals, as well as choreographing. During the year, she teaches dance and choreographs for local companies. Allie Connell, Stage Manager, has been stage managing for the past five years in her hometown in Massachusetts, Boston and New York. She is a founding member of the Tangled Leaves Theater Collective in Cincinnati, Ohio. Allie will be returning to University of Cincinnati as an English major and hopes to get her Masters in education post graduation. Brendon Shapiro, Accompanist, has played piano and music directed for many shows over the years, both where he grew up near Woodstock, New York, and during his undergraduate career at Ithaca College. Favorites include Ragtime, Candide, and Children of Eden. He will be attending Boston University next year to obtain his Master of Music in collaborative piano. Sarah E. Wheeler, Accompanist, originally from Waterville, Maine, just received her Master of Music degree in collaborative piano from Boston University. She completed a double-degree program at Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Music in piano and a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry. Sarah currently freelances as a pianist in Boston. John R. Lucas, Stage Director, has been directing productions at CLOC since 1972. A 1964 MFA graduate of the Yale University School of Drama, John was managing Director of the Theatre and Producer of Summer Theatre at Brown University and is now an Emeritus professor. Since retiring he has sailed around the world on the QE2 and re-settles to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for occasional winters. John has returned to CLOC each summer, (and with the addition of Evita and Patience this season, he will have directed 55 shows (the equivalent of over six full seasons) for CLOC!) While he has directed a number of Broadway musicals at CLOC, like Sweeney Todd, he specializes in European and American operettas with multiple productions of Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, The Gondoliers, The Student Prince, The New Moon, The Vagabond King, and Naughty Marietta, a number of which he has done in collaboration with his dear friend, David B. Weiller, over the last 27 years. (Patience marks his eighth consecutive Gilbert & Sullivan collaboration with Mary Marcell.)Mark A. Pearson, Stage Director, is delighted to be returning for his eighth season with the company. Mark is originally from Hull, MA and received his MFA in theatre design from Boston University. He now lives and works in Germany and has recently finished an engagement as assistant designer at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf. At CLOC, Mark directed The Gondoliers by Gilbert and Sullivan in 2008, The Yeomen of the Guard in 2009, and is directing The Mikado, My Fair Lady, and Naughty Marietta this season. Michael Canestraro, Stage Director, returns for his tenth season with CLOC. Previous productions at Highfield include last season’s The Most Happy Fella and Lady, Be Good! as well as the CLOC premieres of Louisiana Purchase, Very Good, Eddie, and the revised Kiss Me Kate. Mike just completed his tenth and final year as Director of Theatre and Dance at William Floyd High School where his productions of Babes in Arms, Ah, Wilderness! and The Boys from Syracuse, using the original 1938 orchestrations and book for the first time in over fifty years, garnered fourteen STARS Award nominations (Long Island’s own TONY Awards) winning six, including the prestigious Innovation Award for Outstanding Theatre Department/Productions for the second year in a row. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, Lincoln Center Theatre’s Directors Lab and the Stage Director/Choreographers Society. As an actor/singer/dancer, Mike has appeared in several Off-Broadway musicals, at the Russian Tea Room Cabaret, Don’t Tell Mama, and Maine State Music Theatre. Michael Scarola, Stage Director, is thrilled to be returning to CLOC for his sixteenth production. His work was last seen here with the 2009 production of Jekyll & Hyde. The current season saw him working with Madison Opera, Boston Pops, Opera New Jersey, Liederkranz Opera Theatre and the University of Utah. Career highlights include directing Bernstein’sMass for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the JFK Assassination and excerpts from Mass for the re-opening of the Opera House at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. In May of 2006 he had the honor of working with Emmy Award-winning Partisan Pictures in its initial filming of a feature documentary on the incredible story of Raphael Schächter and his performances of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in the concentration camp of TerezÃn, near Prague in the Czech Republic. Mr. Scarola was on the Directing Staff of the Metropolitan Opera for five seasons and has had the privilege to work with such luminaries as Renée Fleming, Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Bryn Terfel. He is currently a member of the Directing Staff of New York City Opera and has also worked with Dallas Opera, Opera Pacific, Santa Fe Opera, Utah Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Arizona Opera, Tulsa Opera, San Antonio Opera, Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, Utah Symphony, Dayton Opera, Fort Worth Symphony, Sarasota Opera, Cabrillo Music Festival, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Indianapolis Opera, Virginia Opera, New Orleans Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Israel Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Opera Orchestra of New York, as well as many others. This fall he makes his Michigan Opera Theatre debut.Corin Hollifield, Stage Director, is thrilled to be returning to CLOC for his ninth season. Past productions at CLOC include How To Succeed..., Anything Goes, 42nd Street, Bye Bye Birdie, Into The Woods and Call Me Madam, Other directing credits include productions of Magic in the Music (World Professional Premiere), My Fair Lady, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Evita, Grease, Forever Plaid, and Phantom. Besides his work in musical theatre, Corin researches, studies and performs various styles of ethnic folk dance. He performed and toured with the internationally acclaimed AllNations Dance Company and is co-founder of World Dance Theatre, whose mission is to unite the various cultures of the world on one stage, and spread a message of peace through music and dance.David Möschler, Principal Conductor, is returning for his sixth season as a member of the music staff at CLOC. He recently received his Masters of Arts degree in conducting at the University of California at Davis and works as a conductor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Last year at CLOC Möschler was musical director for Brigadoon and Carousel, and this summer he returns to conduct Evita. In California he has most recently worked with a variety of theater and performing arts groups, music directing productions of Trial By Jury, The Threepenny Opera, The Mikado, Hair, and several premieres of new works. After CLOC Möschler will return to California to conduct productions of Anything Goes, Parade, and Candide. Originally from North Carolina, Möschler attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned bachelor degrees in music and physics.David B. Weiller, Principal Conductor, first came to CLOC 31 years ago as a rehearsal pianist and then served for three seasons as an associate conductor. As a principal conductor, he has conducted over 40 CLOC productions, including many Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, Viennese and early American operettas and Broadway classics. Some of his favorite Highfield conducting memories are the CLOC premieres of The Dollar Princess, She Loves Me, Song of Norway, Countess Maritza, The King and I, Me and My Girl, The Most Happy Fella, Show Boat, and Lady, Be Good! David recently celebrated 26 years as a music professor and director of choral studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he conducts the University Concert Singers and Chamber Chorale and teaches courses in conducting, choral literature, and pedagogy. He maintains an active schedule as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor.Elizabeth Hastings, Music Director, has conducted for the Toledo Opera, the Washington Opera, the Sarasota Opera and the New York City Opera National Touring Company. For three years she headed the Apprentice Program of the Sarasota Opera Association. A highly regarded vocal coach and accompanist, she maintains a busy studio in her native New York. This past season she appeared at Carnegie Hall as one of two pianists in Carmina Burana with Mid-America. She has also appeared there as harpsichordist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. This past summer she was once again on the staff of the Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute in South Dakota. She is Music Director of the Liederkranz Foundation in New York City where she will be the musical director for Wagner’s Das Rheingold in November. This is her twenty-fifth season at CLOC. Mary Marcell, Music Director, returns to CLOC for her 17th season. This season will mark her 30th CLOC production as a Principal Conductor. Based in the New York City area, Mary leads groups ranging from a 12-voice vocal jazz ensemble to the 180 performers of her annual Festival Chorus Concert. Comfortable in a wide variety of genres, her recent music directing credits include such diverse projects as Anything Goes, Haydn's Mars in Time of War and preparing choruses for pop-musician Rob Mathes She has also conducted most of the Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire. A graduate of Smith College and The Hartt School of Music, Mary chairs the music department at Rye Country Day School, where she teaches the Upper School Choruses, AP Music Theory, and music directs the Student/Faculty musical.Todd Florin, Principal Conductor/Music Director, is thrilled to be back at CLOC to conduct this zany show! Todd has been fortunate to call CLOC his summer musical home for most summers since 1999. Previous shows conducted at Highfield include Iolanthe, Carnival, Carousel, West Side Story, Guys & Dolls, The New Moon, Call Me Madam, HMS Pinafore, Candide and The Secret Garden. Professionally, Dr. Florin is a fellow in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was also a resident and chief resident. He is in the midst of editing his first textbook of pediatrics and is actively pursuing a career in clinical research. Todd’s undergraduate degree is in music, studying voice and conducting at the University of Rochester and the Eastman School of Music. He continues to perform as singer and conductor in the Philadelphia region. Most recently, Todd served as chorusmaster and portrayed Robin Oakapple in Ruddigore with the Savoy Company, America’s oldest amateur Gilbert and Sullivan troupe, at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. He was extremely fortunate to play opposite his wife, Kemper LeCroy Florin, whom he met at CLOC in 2003 and married in 2005.

VOCAL COMPANY WOMENNora Byrd is thrilled to be performing with CLOC this summer. Favorite credits include Madame Thénardier (Les Misérables), Kathy (Company), and an ensemble member of an entirely a cappella Camelot. Nora is a junior classics major at the University of Pennsylvania, and her hometown is Richmond, Virginia.Emily K. Byrne recently graduated from UNC-Greensboro where she studied vocal performance with Levone Tobin-Scott. Credits at UNC-G included Meg (The Ballad of Baby Doe), Carmenella (Carmenella), and Narrator/Giant's Wife (Jack and The Beanstalk). Her portrayal of Hata in The Bartered Bride was featured in Classical Voice of North Carolina. Alexandra Linn Desaulniers is pursuing majors in theater/dance and anthropology at Colby College. Credits include Abby Brewster (Arsenic and Old Lace), Fräulein Kost (Cabaret), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), Cat in the Hat (Seussical). She was a 2010 KCACTF nominee and a 2007 NATS Boston Musical Theater Festival Finalist. Alexa Devlin is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Last summer, she played Suzuki in Madama Butterfly in the Lyrique en Mer program in France. Credits include Madame de Croissy (Dialogues of the Carmelites), Katisha (The Mikado), Arnalta (LIncoronazione di Poppea), The Bakers Wife (Into the Woods), Emma Goldman (Ragtime), Adelaide (Guys and Dolls), Kate McGowan (Titanic).Stephanie Dietz is a fourth year vocal performance major (with a minor in theatre) at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She has enjoyed performing at school and with various community theatre groups. Dana Feinberg is a recent graduate of Ithaca College with her Bachelors of Music in vocal performance. She is from Westport, Connecticut. Favorite credits include Diane (Bare: A Pop Opera) and Cinderella (Into the Woods) with Ithaca College Triple Threat Theatre. This is her first year with CLOC.Amanda Forker is a senior at Western Connecticut State University studying vocal performance. Recent credits: Chanteuse/Kit Kat Dancer (Cabaret), Dorothy Brock (42nd Street), Third Lady (The Magic Flute), Lay Sister/Ensemble (Suor Angelica/Cavalleria Rusticana, Opera Theater of CT), Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro), Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors).Kate Gosnell is a recent graduate of Otterbein College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre. Favorite productions at Otterbein include Babes in Arms, Nine: The Musical, and Pippin. Kate is originally from Michigan. Samantha Helmstetter is originally from New Orleans. She is pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre at Wright State University, where credits include Johanna (Sweeney Todd), Eleanor Widener (Titanic: The Musical), and Margaret u/s (The Light in the Piazza). This is her first year at CLOC. Amanda Horvath attends Chicago College of Performing Arts, studying vocal performance under Judith Haddon. Credits include Cloco (Franz Lehar's Cloclo, US Premiere/Chicago Folks Operetta), Lucy Lockitt The Beggar's Opera, DuPage Opera Theatre), Scaramouche (Queen's We Will Rock You, US premiere/Jedlicka Performing Arts Center). She placed third in the Graduate Division of the Chicago National Association of Teachers of Singing competition. Taylor Jacobson originally from Marshfield, Wisconsin, just completed her senior year at Lawrence University, studying voice performance and music education. Recent credits include Anne Page (Nikolai's The Merry Wives of Windsor), Princess Laoula (Chabrier's L'etoile), and Cunegonde (Bernstein's Candide). Taylor studies with Joanne Bozeman. Christine Lacey graduated from Harvard this may and plans to move to New York in the fall to pursue a career in acting. Previous credits include Johanna (Sweeney Todd), Baker's Wife (Into the Woods), Pitti-Sing (The Mikado), and Mabel (Pirates of Penzance). Brynn Lewallen graduated last May from Denison University, where she studied vocal performance and English. She received the Foster G. McGaw Scholarship in Performing Arts and the Marjorie Chan Award in Music. Credits: Little Sally (Urinetown), Baker's Wife ( Into the Woods), Tessa (The Gondoliers), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical). She is a voice and piano teacher, and taught music at an international school in Tanzania for a year. Rachel Marschke originally from St. Louis, Missouri, just completed her senior year at Lawrence University. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance and music education. She has performed in operas, musicals, and as a choral soloist. Credits include Queen (Cinderella) and Susanna (Nozze di Figaro, scenes). She studies with Patrice Michaels. Amanda McGarry graduated summa cum laude from New York University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Music at Rutgers University in her native New Jersey. Favorite credits include Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti) and Sally (A Hand of Bridge). Chelsea Melamed is a rising senior at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. She is a candidate for a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Recent credits include Paquette (Candide), Joy (Cinderella), and Featured Soloist (Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass). She studies under Karen Leigh-Post.VOCAL COMPANY MEN Brad Baron is a rising senior at Princeton University, studying English, theatre, and vocal performance. CLOC 2009 credits include Wilfred (Yeomen of the Guard), Bertie Bassett (Lady, Be Good) and Dick Deadeye (H.M.S. Pinafore). Princeton credits include Franz-Fritz (Flammentangel Kabarett), Raskolnikov (Crime and Punishment), Monstresor/Michael Phelps (Stark Raven Mad), Tempo/Nettuno (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria), and Father (Rosaleen). Brad currently studies under David Kellett.Brian Bowman will be entering his sophomore year at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts. He studies under Mark Crayton. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Recent credits include Daniel (Once On This Island), Nicely Nicely Johnson (Guys and Dolls), and Doody (Grease).Ethan Contreras a senior musical theatre major at the University of Central Oklahoma, studies voice with Dr. Marilyn Govich. UCO credits include Aerialist (Pippin), Karl (Promises, Promises). Professional credits include Dream Curly/Jud Fry u/s (Oklahoma! at Discoveryland!), Flag Dancer/Calvin Armstrong u/s (TEXAS), and Ensemble (Ragtime, Pollard Theatre). Alexander Daly is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he is a drama major and vocal performance minor. Previous credits include Black (Lippa's The Wild Party) and Austin (I Love You Because). He is delighted to be returning for his second season on the Cape. Gabriel Di Gennaro is a rising senior at the University of Delaware. He is in the Dean's Scholar program, and is concentrating in music education, vocal performance, and theatre performance. Born in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, Gabriel's favorite roles include Javert (Les Misérables) and The Pirate King (The Pirates of Penzance).Mike Dorsey is a rising senior at Concord University, studying music education. Favorite credits include Edgar/Bat Boy (Bat Boy: The Musical), Martin (The Tender Land), Charlie Brown (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown), Bellomy (The Fantasticks), and Male Singer (Spoon River). Zach Garcia hails from Wrightstown, Wisconsin, and is a rising senior at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is a candidate for a Bachelor of Arts in music and theatre. Favorite credits include Harold (Cinderella) and The Storm (Daemones). He studies voice under Kenneth Bozeman and theatre under Kathy Privatt and Tim Troy. Brandon Grimes is joining CLOC for his first year. He hails from the Boston area, and will be a senior at the University of Michigan this fall. Favorite credits include Sweeney (Sweeney Todd), Javert (Les Misérables), Collins (Rent), Vershinen (Three Sisters), and Captain Von Trapp (The Sound of Music). Patrick J. Hagen is excited to be at CLOC for his first summer. He is a rising senior at Penn State, studying voice performance with Richard Kennedy. Previous credits include The Marriage of Figaro, Les Arts Flourrisants, Die Fledermaus, and various scenes. Conner Lewis will be a fifth year senior at Lawrence University. He is currently studying vocal music and theatre. Recent credits include Romeo (Romeo and Juliet), Sherlock Holmes (Hope/Who's Waldo), and Sir Joseph Porter K.C.B. (H.M.S. Pinafore).Justin John Moniz is currently pursuing a B.M. in vocal performance from the Crane School of Music. Michael is a recipient of a Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star award from the state theater of New Jersey. He has been invited to perform holiday standards four times at the White House during the holiday season for touring guests. CLOC 2009 credits include, The Doctor (The Most Happy Fella), Captain (Titanic), Charles Heathersett (Me and My Girl), and Sir Danvers (Jekyll and Hyde).Brian Shaw is a rising junior at Baldwin-Wallace College, where he is currently pursuing a dual major in theatre and music. Brian often appears onstage, but also works avidly as a design and technical student. Recent credits include Garcia Lorca's Blood Wedding and Ned Rorem's Our Town. James Soller is excited to be joining CLOC for his first season. He is currently attending the Chicago College of the Performing Arts, where he studies under Richard Stilwell. He has performed at Arena Stage, Signature Theater, and Ford's Theater in Washington, DC. Recent credits include Valjean (Les Misérables) and Billy Crocker (Anything Goes).Scott Wasserman holds a degree in music composition from Carnegie Mellon University. While at CMU, Scott performed with ScotchnSoda Theatre, where credits include Lawrence (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Bill (Me and My Girl), and Miles Gloriosus (A Funny ThingForum). CMU School of Music credits include Ko-Ko (The Mikado), and Steve Sankey (Street Scene). Kyle Yampiro is a recent graduate of the University of Delaware, with a BM applied voice degree, where he participated in many music extracurriculars. Recent credits include Major General (The Pirates of Penzance ) and Sid (Albert Herring ). He is attending James Madison University this fall to pursue his Masters degree in voice performance.

The 2010 Orchestra Biographies
Kayla Barbas, Trumpet - Kayla is joining CLOC for her first season. At UNH, she is a member of UNH Wind Symphony, UNH Orchestra, and a brass quintet. In summer 2009, Kayla played in the pit at the Palace Theatre. She studies with Dr. Robert Stibler.Elizabeth Benoit Crew, Cello - Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from The University of Massachusetts Amherst. She studied with Jaqueline Skeris, Paul Fleury, and most recently with Astrid Schween and Greg Sauer. Additionally, Elizabeth has participated in many master classes, and attended Brevard Music Center and School for Strings Summer Seminar.Sarah Bleichfield, Viola - Sarah has been playing viola since age 10. In Spring 2010, she performed with the Costa Rican National Orchestra. She has also performed with the Eleva Chamber Players and the St. Lawrence County Gospel Choir. A recent graduate of SUNY Potsdams Crane School of Music, she plans to use her degree to perform and teach private lessons.K. Eve Boltax, Violin - Eve recently completed her degree in classical and jazz performance. She was the winner of the 2010 UMass Concerto Competition and the Julian Olersky Scholarship. In the summers, she has studied in France, Germany, California, and Vermont.Laura Bunker, Contrabass - Laura is a recent graduate from the Eastman School of Music. She has performed with many ensembles, including the New York Youth Symphony and the OSSIA New Music Ensemble. She is happy to be back for a second season at CLOC.Carl Burdick, Trumpet - Carl is returning for his second season at CLOC. Having recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University with a Bachelors degree in Trumpet Performance, he is looking forward to pursuing his Masters in Trumpet and Music Theory at the University of Cincinnatis College Conservatory of Music.Megan Fedor, Violin - Megan attended All-State and was involved in NYSSSA School of Orchestral Studies. At Crane, she studied music performance and education, was the concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra, and was involved in two operas. Megan recently spent five months in Costa Rica playing with the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra. This is her second year at CLOC.Zachariah Galatis, Flute/Picc - Zach holds a BM in Flute Performance from the Crane School of Music and a MM in Piccolo Performance from the Peabody Conservatory. His major teachers include Laurie Sokoloff and Emily Skala of the Baltimore Symphony, and this fall he will begin his DMA in Flute Performance at Peabody, studying with Marina Piccinini. He has performed with the Baltimore Symphony under Marin Alsop, and earlier this summer he attended the National Orchestral Institute. This is Zach's third summer with CLOC.Elizabeth Harraman, Horn - Elizabeth is a rising senior at UW-Madison, with a major in French horn performance and a minor in Gender and Womens Studies. At UW, she plays in the University Wind Ensemble, University Symphony Orchestra, and numerous other chamber ensembles. Elizabeth has also played in the pit for Guys and Dolls, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Marriage of Figaro. This is her first year at CLOC.Julia Kelley, Clarinet - Julia graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in music and magazine journalism. She is originally from Troy, New York. This is her first season with CLOC. In the fall, Julia will travel to Nice, France to teach English.Katie Lynch Koglin, Harp - Katie is a local freelance harpist and vocalist for musicals, recitals, weddings and other special occasions. Shes been with CLOC since 1994 and is happy to return for another season. Since last summer, Katie was seen on stage as Winnifred in Once Upon A Mattress at Barnstable Comedy Club, as Clara in Robert Wyatts Porgy and Bess: Stories and Songs at Cotuit Center for the Arts, and played harp for A Little Night Music with the Boston Opera Collaborative, Beauty and the Beast at BHS, and The Fantasticks! with Plymouth Community Theatre. Katie also music directed The Pajama Game at Mashpee High School. She teaches harp privately, directs a childrens choir, and is a soloist at two churches.For more information please visit CapeCodHarpist.comBecky Kung, Flute - Becky is a rising senior at Case Western Reserve University, where she studies music performance and math. She is the winner of the Concerto Competition at Case Western this past year. Through Footlighter Productions (a club at Case Western), Becky has played in the pit orchestras for shows including Sweeney Todd, The Pajama Game, West Side Story, and Pippin. This is her first summer at CLOC.Bill Makin, Violin - William is a recent graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where he studied music education. In the fall, William will be teaching high school orchestra in Liverpool, New York. William is very excited to be back for his second summer with CLOC.Philip Murphy, Bassoon - A native of Syracuse, NY, Phil is thrilled to be back for his fifth season at CLOC. Phil holds a BM in music education from Syracuse University, and completed a MA in education at Columbia University in 2009. In the off-season, Phil is active as a teacher and woodwind performer throughout the Syracuse, NY and New York City areas.Luke Short, Percussion - Luke graduated from Boston University's College of Fine Arts, where he studied percussion performance. He has played shows such as Lucia di Lammermor with the Boston University Opera Institute and various musicals. He is from Teaneck, New Jersey and worked with CLOC as the percussionist for last season, and as a guest artist for 2008's West Side Story.Carey Sleeman, Violin - Carey is a rising senior at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she studies music education. At Crane, she performs in the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Carey has performed in the pit orchestras for The Music Man and the opera The Highway Men. She has been playing violin since age 8. This is her first summer at CLOC.Jordan Standlee, Clarinet - Jordan recently completed a Saxophone Performance degree at Eastman, where he was a member of the Wind Ensemble and Philharmonic Orchestra, and performed with the Opera Theatre. He is a freelance musician in the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Western New York areas and was the NY Winner of the MTNA Chamber Competition in October 2007. In the fall, Jordan will return to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to teach.Judith Stephen, Horn - Judith is a rising junior at University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studies horn performance. At UW-Madison, she performs with the Wind Ensemble and in various chamber groups. She has played in the pit orchestra for shows including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Beechmont Players), Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast. This is her first summer at CLOC.Jill Staudt, Oboe - Jill is a 2009 graduate of the University of Iowa. She works for Franciscan Mission Service in Washington, DC and performs with the Catholic University Symphony Orchestra, Bel Cantanti Opera Company, and the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra. Previously, Jill has played with the NY Summer Music Festival and the Rome Festival. This is her first season with CLOC.Paul Watkins, Trombone - Paul has played trombone for five years, and is thrilled to be a part of CLOC for his first season. Holding degrees in music composition and psychology from UC Davis, he is a two-time recipient of the Olga Brose Valente prize for music composition. Originally from San Jose, California, Paul is also excited to be on the east coast for the first time.

The 2010 Crew Biographies
STAGE CREWRyan Bates - Ryan is a first year tech crew member. He is an architectural studies and theatre major at Middlebury College, and a KCACTF award recipient for Excellence in Scenic Design. Past theatre credits include work as a costume designer, tech director, stage manager, and technician.Samantha Garfield - Samantha is joining CLOC for her first season. She is studying theatre and education at Farleigh Dickinson University, where she has been on tech crew for two theatrical seasons. At Piscataway High School, Samantha held various positions in the theatre in her four years, including actor, stage manager, and costumer. She has also been a counselor for Middlesex Theatre Camp. David "Deezer" Irons - David is a rising senior at Bates College, where he studies classics. He is employed by the Bates College Theater Department as a carpenter. Deezer comes to CLOC for his first season with seven years of theatrical experience, four years on stage and three behind the scenes. Chris Macioci - Chris is a return tech crew member from last year. He is a rising junior at Clark University majoring in technical theater. He likes fixing things, "fixing" things and breaking things, and hopes to return to CLOC for the 2011 season.Suzanne Plachy - Suzanne hails from Upper Nyack, New York, where she worked on various shows in high school, including Phantom of the Opera, Lend Me a Tenor, and Disco Inferno. She graduated high school with honors and is now a rising sophomore at Wagner College, where she studies design, technology, and management. This year at Wagner, she worked on The Who's Tommy, Little Women, and Beauty and the Beast. Kyle Stormes - Kyle is originally from Nanuet, New York, and is joining CLOC for his first season. He just graduated from SUNY – New Paltz, where he studied tech theatre. Kyle received the KCACTF Projection Designer Award. COSTUME CREWCarlie Crawford - Carlie is a rising senior at Middlebury College, majoring in theatre with a focus in costume design. Past credits at Middlebury include Burn This, Leap, I Hate Hamlet, and Jekyll. This is her first year with CLOC, and her first time working in musical theatre. Carlie is very excited to be working with such a dedicated and talented costume crew. Jacob Donnelly - Jacob studied fashion and costume design at Liverpool Community College in England. He is working on a Bachelors of Arts with honors at the Arts University College at Bournemouth in England, where he studies costume with performance design. This is his second season with CLOC. Elizabeth Durst - Elizabeth, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, is returning to CLOC for her second year having just received her BFA from Boston University in theatre arts this May. She has previously worked at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a company manager. While at Boston University, she directed new plays.Alana Frutkoff - Alana, originally from Natick, Massachusetts, is back for her second season at CLOC. She is a rising senior at Skidmore College, where she studies theatre and English. She worked in the Skidmore costume shop for three years as a seamstress, wardrobe mistress, and assistant designer, and will be designing a department show next spring. Jenna Glendye - Jenna is a rising senior theatre major, Spanish minor at Skidmore College. She spent fall studying abroad in Spain. Jenna recently stage managed the spring blackbox production at Skidmore, and will be costume designing Death of a Salesman in the fall. Jenna is excited for her second summer on the Cape with CLOC. Jessica C. Pautler - Jessica has worked as a costumer for Utah Shakespearean Festival, Virginia Shakespeare Festival, and Stages St. Louis. A 2003 graduate of Truman State University, she is a candidate for the costume production M.F.A. at Boston University. Previous credits include The Taming of the Shrew, Shaw's Candida, and Albee's The Goat (or Who Is Sylvia?).
