Stage Manager
The Stage Manager at the College Light Opera Company is an incredibly demanding but immensely rewarding challenge for any determined young stage manager looking to hone her or his skills. The standard Stage Management tasks apply: recording blocking; calling shows; supervising tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals and set change overs – but these are fused into an accelerated schedule.

Rehearsal begins at 9:30 a.m. with a break for lunch at 12:00 and then continues from 1:30 until 5:00 with a performance in the evening.  There are six performances of each show, Tuesday, Wednesday Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and  2:00 p.m. matinee performances on Thursday and Friday. There is a Sitzprobe on Saturday afternoon,  a technical rehearsal on Sunday evening, and a dress rehearsal on Monday evening. The stage manager has Tuesday morning and afternoon off.

All Company members are assigned chores that help keep the campus and theatre running.

A successful candidate must possess impeccable organizational skills, a cool and calm disposition, refined communication skills and just the right amount of insanity to believe the task can be done week after week for nine weeks. We are seeking an individual with maturity, wit, patience, and tact. Exceptional leadership skills are essential. We are looking for an upperclassman  or graduate student for this position. In addition to filling out the online application form, potential candidates should send a formal application letter to apply@collegelightoperacompany.com and be prepared to participate in an online interview via Skype.

The Stage Manager must arrive to campus by 6:00 p.m. on June 2, 2021 and depart on by noon on Sunday August 22, 2021. The entire company is required to participate in final strike on the evening of Saturday August 21, 2021.

A drivers license is mandatory and a car is desirable. The position pays room and board and a stipend. For more information, please write to: apply@collegelightoperacompany.com.
