Two accompanists are hired for the season. As members of the music staff, the accompanists work closely with the associate conductors and music directors.
Besides playing at daily rehearsals and the three vocal company audition sessions throughout the season, accompanists may also be required to join the pit for certain productions. Performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with an additional Thursday matinee at 2:00 p.m. Dress rehearsal takes place Monday night and tech occurs on Sunday evenings.
There are four pianos at the residential campus where staging rehearsals take place. CLOC musicians also have access to the practice rooms at the Cape Cod Conservatory, located adjacent to the theater.
In addition to the regular season of nine shows, CLOC proudly participates in events that elevate our local community of Falmouth, MA. Examples of such events include an Independence Day Concert, an annual orchestra concert at the Cape Cod Conservatory, as well as volunteer-based opportunities such as performing at donor events.
Producing nine shows in nine weeks creates an extremely fast-paced working environment. Successful candidates will be able to learn new music quickly. Familiarizing yourself with the music from the season before arrival is strongly recommended.
Music staff members must arrive to campus by 6:00 p.m. on June 10, 2020 and depart on by noon on Sunday August 30, 2020. The entire company is required to participate in final strike on the evening of Saturday August 29, 2020. Exceptions to these dates will be considered for students who must leave early to attend school.
